Just like you don’t need to inform an airline that you have travel insurance when purchasing a flight ticket or boarding a plane, you do not need to advise the car rental company that you have purchased third party rental vehicle insurance.
Collision damage waiver (CDW) or other excess reduction options provided by the car rental company are usually optional.
