The Prosura Rental Vehicle Excess Insurance for Travel in Australia product provides cover for qualifying rental vehicles for travel within Australia. However, cover is excluded where you are in violation of the terms of your Rental Agreement.
Many car rental suppliers do not allow their hire cars to be taken on a ferry and, in those circumstances, taking a hire car on a ferry is considered a breach of the terms of your rental agreement.
Please check with the car rental company directly as to whether you will be permitted to take the rental car on a ferry to an island.
